Chamonix, France

We finally made it up to Chamonix for an afternoon with our friends. We found the town underwhelming. Next time we must go up one of the gondolas and perhaps go for a hike. I think that is where the attraction of this area lies!

This trompe l'oeil depicts famous mountain climbers past and present.

Český Krumlov IX: The End

We often saw signs like this painted on walls. I believe they are markers for bicycle riders.

The buildings are painted on the outside in very interesting ways. Some optical illusions, some Trompe-l'œil.

Lyon - trompe l'oeil

Lyon is the capital of trompe l'oeil. You see this wonderful art form all over the city. Here are some examples.

Martigny, Switzerland

We visited some new friends in Martigny one weekend. It is a nice little town. I think the best thing about it is the surrounding Alps! The downtown street is lined with these great trees.

A bit of trompe l'oeil.
