Inside some of the rooms of the Abbey they had an art exhibit going on that was very interesting. In one room there were videos playing over figures coming out of the wall. It was strange standing in these rooms!

Stift Melk, Austria

Our next stop in Austria was an Abbey called Stift Melk (Melk Abbey). It is a Benedictine abbey, and one of the world's most famous monastic sites. It is located above the town of Melk overlooking the river Danube. It is a beautiful building inside and out and the color of the paint makes it really stand out!



There were several modern paintings like this around the courtyard.
