House Hunting: A view into the lives of others

I went out to look at two potential houses to buy today. Neither was quite right, but it's always interesting seeing how other people live.

This bunny was a pet at one place and they just let him roam around! He was friendly until I pulled out the camera, then he became "jungle bunny."

Seen in the basement of another house. Dang, I would have killed to have a car like this when I was a kid!

Expose Yourshelf

Read that title carefully! I decided to take a photo of my bookshelf to add to this blog. I think it's a fun idea. Thanks to D.C. Confidential for the link!

Spring Snow!

This was one of those days when I was looking around thinking, I feel uninspired. What in the he** am I going to take a photo of today? It's a gray day, so the light is boring. I'm just doing my usual routine of going to work and home. Then, as if the Gods were listening, the sky opens up and snow falls out! Snow is unusual enough in Seattle, but now in Spring? A miracle for the previously uninspired.

Wine Tasting

Tonight I took photos for a Seattle Swirl wine tasting event. It took place at the Poco Wine Room which was new to me. It is quite lovely inside and the owners are very nice! A great place to share an intimate glass of wine.

The wood wall is amazing!

Poco put on a fine spread!

All the pretty lights.

I love the bathroom!

Looking Up

This is the tallest building in Seattle. It used to be called the Columbia Tower and I still call it that. I'm not sure what the new name is...

I met a friend at Pike Place Market after work. While I was waiting for her to buy some fish, I took these shots.

Dinner anyone?

Easter Fun

The Easter Egg Hunt? Well, that was okay, but jumping in a mud puddle... now THAT is good Easter day fun!

Don't jump in it (at least not until I've taken the photo)!

Today was beautiful weather with plenty of evidence of yesterday's rain.

The first day of Spring. Brrrrrrrrrrrr

Today is the first day of Spring. To celebrate, Pike Place Market was giving away free Daffodils. This bird decided to enhance my shot at the last minute. Thank you bird.

I met my friend for a birthday dinner at Six Arms. This is some of the decoration hanging from the ceiling.

The slow and painful death of Pike/Pine

On Capitol Hill. Where the Cha Cha, Manray, and other notable places used to be.

Painting (and photos) in Baguette Box where I stopped by on the way home from work to pick up an amazing sandwich for dinner.

Toe Bling

I worked at home today. My sinus' were acting up and my head felt aweful (it's the Cherry tree's fault). I took a bath and decided to take a pic of the bling on my toes from my pedicure.

What could be better than Irish Coffee on St. Patty's Day?

The advantage of working for a Catholic company? Getting to drink Irish Coffee at work on St. Patty's Day!

My digital cameras

These are my two digital cameras. Most of the shots I take are using the Point and Shoot since I can fit it in my pocket. I'm looking for a new one, however, since this one is quite a few years old and I know I can do better. The Nikon is fairly new, but I still have to learn how to take shots as well as I could using my film camera. The menus are intimidating!

Nikon D40X

Canon Powershot. This little guy has seen a lot of action including two river trips down the Grand Canyon!

The end of the road

My last day in San Diego. We walked along Mission Beach to the Wavehouse. Then drove up to Mt. Soledad to see the spectacular view! Then it was off to the airport and back to home sweet Seattle.

The Food! The Seals! The Sunset!

Friday consisted of going to Old Town and eating Mexican food, then driving to La Jolla to see the seals and sunset, then a spectacular dessert at Extraordinary Desserts.

Ahhh, the nightlife!

The birthday evening started out with a perusal of the rooftop J6Bar. It was beautiful and upscale and the moon was out!

We then moved to the raucus Shout House which is a dueling piano bar. It was quite fun watching the birthday people get dragged up to sit on the piano and have a song sung for them which was of a terribly embarrassing subject. Of course, we made sure my friend got the royal treatment!

When the piano men switched out a person, they would all three play different instruments for one song first.

Free Hugs!

How could we resist? We all got one.

Drinks at the Prado in Balboa Park to celebrate my friend's birthday.

All the pretty flowers - and spiky things!

More on Balboa Park in San Diego. There were so many beautiful flowers and interesting plants, that I have to devote one post just to them! Sorry, it's a long one.

The last, and favorite.
