Einstein lived in Bern for a couple of years. We wanted to go in to see the apartment, but it had already closed. Here are a few more shots from around town too.

Bern has many such "basement stores" lining the streets. I'd like to go back and do some shopping in this city!

The Zytglogge (or "time bell" in Bernese German). A "time bell" was one of the earliest public timekeeping devices, consisting of a clockwork connected to a hammer that rang a small bell at the full hour. The tower has this clock and an astronomical clock seen in the next photo.
