Sun and Salsa
Today the weather changed completely! It was sunny and almost too warm for me. I don't really enjoy sweating in my apartment. Things improved greatly when we went to the Arboretum for a pleasant walk.

Salsa sampler. After our walk in the park, we ate at Senor Moose in Ballard. That place was an oven inside, but the food and margaritas were SO worth it!
The guy sitting next to us showed us his interesting sunburn. He'd been up snowboarding today. Poor guys just don't know what to make of that big bright yellow thing in the sky!

Hanging Shoes
I'm not sure why people do this, but you see a lot of shoes hanging around Capitol Hill!
This helicopter was hovering in the same spot during my entire walk to work this morning. I wonder what was up? Perhaps the Dalai Lama was on his way to his first speaking engagement.
I call this The Sentinel. The bird seems to be guarding these shoes!

Lots and Cops
I shot the Pine street block again this morning to show the difference from a few weeks ago. It's all paved over now in this strange green asphalt.
I'm sure the building behind this lot is currently much happier with their view. They can see the city now (at least until the new condos go in)!
Have you ever noticed that the motorcycle cops in this city have personalized license plate frames? Here is a good example of one. I've scrambled the letters/numbers to protect the innocent.

Bathroom Tiles
Did you ever notice that in Seattle most of the buildings built in the early 1900's have the same small white tiles with a few blue pieces woven in? Most are a very simple pattern, but these two taken in the Smith Tower are a bit fancier.
