Peeking through the Snow

It snowed and hailed on us last night as my friend and I were driving home from a baby shower, but it didn't seem to stick here in Capitol Hill. We haven't had any snow on the Hill today either, though I hear there is snow in other parts of the city. This shot was taken during our last snow storm. We've had many more than usual in Seattle this winter!

Update at 6:30: It's snowing now!

I heard about this hail/snow storm from a young guy who contributes to a internal company blog. He had a photo of the parking lot with cars covered with at least 2 inches of snow. What an unusual year.
I love the photo of flowers in full bloom with a coat of snow. That's a really rare sight.

Stunning pic. Amazing anything can grow in snow!

tash: It is rare. Especially in Seattle! This winter has been most unusual.

lisa: Thanks! The flowers seem to have survived and are looking good now.

i just got in from shoveling snow, second time in 10 hours, weary of winter snow. Very pretty the purplish color against the white.

dusty: I'll bet you are tired of it! Hopefully I'll be able to post some cheery flowers for you soon (sans snow).

What is it about snow and spring blossoming? I like pictures like this. Very nicely done!
