We took a drive on the Grossglockner High Alpine road one day while we were in Austria this Summer. It was spectacular! I also liked that the road was actually wide enough for two cars all the way up and down the other side!

Fog

At the beginning of November we had some spectacular fog. Here are a few shots from our apartment.

On the Road

At the end of May and into June we took a road trip for two weeks. We drove through eight countries, but spent the majority of our time in Austria and Croatia. This photo was taken in Verona, Italy and the next ones on the road in Italy.

Gettin' Our Kicks...

This post and the next few will feature our drive on old Route 66. It was certainly an adventure! The movie Cars was modeled after the town of Seligman, Arizona which is the subject of today's post.















We ate fabulous pie at Westside Lilo's Cafe. The woman that owns it is German and there are many German items on the menu such as Wiener Schnitzel. We decided we really had to come back for lunch sometime!

Gumball 3000

We kept seeing these souped up cars driving around while we were in Sedona and the Grand Canyon. I finally got some shots of them parked at the Grand Canyon. They are part of a "rally" called the Gumball 3000 which seems to be an event that happens once a year in which rich men and women drive a specific route which could be anywhere in the world. This year it happened to be across the US and we just happened to be in Sedona the day they were and then at the Grand Canyon as well. Judging by the way they were driving, I'd say they looked at this event more like a "race" than a "rally," but they've gotten in trouble in the past and had to change it to a rally.















These girls got out of one of the cars (speaking a foreign language), took a pic of themselves in front of the Grand Canyon, then got right back in the car and left. Not the best way to see the Grand Canyon in my opinion after coming all that way!

Two Things Challenge: Up/Down

I may find something better before Sunday. I had a hard time with the "up" part of this challenge today as it's gray and drizzly.
