Lauterbrunnen

After our big day, we returned to Lauterbrunnen and ate dinner at the hotel restaurant which was amazingly good. In fact, I have to say this was the best Schnitzel I've had since coming back to Europe!






Rachel and I also took an after dinner walk up the road to look at the waterfall which they light up at night.

Food Stops in Europe

I've had requests from the clamoring hoards to post some shots of Europe, so I will interrupt my U.S. road trip for a moment to appease them! This is Eis mit Sahne (ice-cream with whipped cream) eaten just over the border from Switzerland in Bad Saeckingen, Germany. As a little girl I used to love stopping for Eis mit Sahne in the cafes. I couldn't resist doing it again since we were in Germany for a few hours! This is the Schwarzwald becher which has chocolate ice-cream and cherries.



Dinner out in Basel, Switzerland at Walliser Kanne. This would be the wiener schnitzel with roesti. Yum!

Gettin' Our Kicks...

This post and the next few will feature our drive on old Route 66. It was certainly an adventure! The movie Cars was modeled after the town of Seligman, Arizona which is the subject of today's post.















We ate fabulous pie at Westside Lilo's Cafe. The woman that owns it is German and there are many German items on the menu such as Wiener Schnitzel. We decided we really had to come back for lunch sometime!
