This post and the next few will feature our drive on old Route 66. It was certainly an adventure! The movie Cars was modeled after the town of
Seligman, Arizona which is the subject of today's post.
We ate fabulous pie at
Westside Lilo's Cafe. The woman that owns it is German and there are many German items on the menu such as
Wiener Schnitzel. We decided we really had to come back for lunch sometime!

I love the photos. They bring back memories. My family traveled back and forth on Route 66 three times in the early 1960s.
"Well it goes through St. Louie down to Missouri
Oklahoma City looks oh so pretty.
You'll see Amarillo, Gallup, New Mexico
Flagstaff, Arizona, don't forget Winona,
Kingsman, Barstow, San Bernardino."
What? No Stuckeys? That pie made me damn hungry.
We have to go back to Lilo's. I really want to try the schnitzel. Your photos of Old 66 are great. Aside from the hairy stretch, I loved this part of our road trip. Traveling on one of America's oldest, most storied roads was fabulous.
movielady: That must have been great!
Cele: Nope, no Stuckeys! The pie was excellent!
janet: We really should try to drive more of it sometime...
