Le Refuge de Florimont

My friend, Rachel, came to visit for a week last month. We had a whirlwind time with her trying to pack as much as possible into a short time. One of the meals we had was at this restaurant up in the Jura. When the view is clear, you can see Mont Blanc. Unfortunately, it was not on this evening. We still had amazing food including Raclette and Tartiflette (or Gexiflette with the local cheese).

Restaurant de la Truite

We met some friends for dinner at La Truite in Ferney-Voltaire. Good food and good times!

Lyonnaise Cuisine

The main reason we ventured to Lyon was to try the world famous food. It did not disappoint. Thanks to our friend, Faith, who knew which restaurant to try, we had an excellent meal. The key to eating there, however, is to not think about which parts of the animal you are eating (such as cow's snout pictured here).

Our restaurant had it's own label made.

This looks strange, but was my favorite dish. It's made out of Pike I think.

This food is all about the sauces. You can make any meat taste good with a good sauce!

The desserts were also wonderful.

I believe this was Faith's favorite.

Set up for the dinner crowd.

You can't smoke inside restaurants in France, so people take their smoke breaks outside.

Alpages at Annecy XV - FOOD!

This is a dish known as Raclette found in this area of France and Switzerland. It is a mouthwatering combo of melted cheese and meats etc. YUM!

Here is some food we saw in a store window that DID NOT look so appetizing!

This guy was making apple juice.
