My friend at Seattle Swirl asked me to take photos at her scotch tasting event. I was all excited about that since I love scotch! Afterwards, we got to stay and enjoy the comedy at the Mainstage. The headliner was Cathy Sorbo who is an announcer for the Rat City Rollergirls. Her crazy antics and descriptions of body parts had me rolling! Scotch and comedy? A fun evening indeed!
Look at that color!
The book we got to take home.
Food to soak up the liquor.

OK, you got me going here with this scotch talk. You never did mention what scotch you tasted.
My Pop and i both enjoy The Balvanie 12 year old Double wood. Its a staple at the cabin.
i just finished a fabulous bottle of Lagavoulin 16 year old. (OK, so that may not be the right spelling, but you get the idea).
Nothing goes better with scothc than a fine cigar. Another staple at the cabin. I have two favorites; 1. Romeo e Julieta, Cunana is perfered, but I'll settle for the Dominican. 2. hoyo de Monteray double maduro mnaduro. Real tough to find since cigar smoking became fashionable with the yuppies. (oh, shoot, no offense, I don;t even know if you're a yuppie or not, sorry).
This double maduro was outstanding, acidic, robust, the dang thing actually burned the lips as we toked on them. Damn that was a good cigar, years ago, I had 3 boxes of them. All gone now.
Oh, one more excellent scothc discovery. My H.S. buddy and I used to go on weekend fishing trips. Of course scotch and cigars where consumed in uantities.
Saturday morning we woke up and decided that a cigar would be great for breakfast. Well what goes good with a cigar? Scoth. I believe it was Tomatin. So, 9:00 AM in the north woods, we each have a glass of scoths to go with that cigar.
Hunger set in, not desiring to cook up eggs and hashbrowns, we chose the next best thing. untoasted poptarts.
You know, that raspberry flavored poptart complimented the smokey flavors of the scotch and cigar so well thatwe to this day enjoy this combination for happy hour.
HAHAHA, that second story is great. I never would have guessed that Pop Tarts go with scotch!
I'm having a hard time remembering which ones we tasted now, but I do remember that one of them was Lagavoulin (sp?). I think that was also my favorite! Talisker was the other one I liked. I also know that I preferred the more peaty ones, unlike the rest of the crowd.
My dad likes Laphroig, but I had to break the news to him that they are changing it due to people's lack of "peaty" taste. Too bad.
I don't smoke cigars myself (or anything else for that matter), but my parent's occasionally enjoy them.
And, NO, I most definitely don't consider myself a yuppie! ;-)
