Lava, Lava, Everywhere!

We drove through a big lava field known as the Valley of Fires on the way to Santa Fe. It was a nice place to stop and have a picnic while looking at the incredible view.

Our jalopy taking a break and enjoying the view.

Um, you forgot to mention the wind. What about the wind?

Actually, the lava fields were really, really cool. (The wind? Not so much.)

Roads in New Mexico and Arizona look so different than in the rest of the country. What a view.

For some reason, the tune "long and winding road" comes to mind.

Janet: I guess I blocked that part out. ;-)

Cele and Dusty: That is actually a walking path, not a road. I loved the way it winded it's way through the lava. The song could still fit though!

Lisa: I didn't know they grew there! They do have beautiful blooms. Try to find some in the Spring!
