Taos

Taos is a cute town. There weren't many tourists this time of year, so the merchants were quite friendly and we chatted with a few while shopping for boots and stopping for ice-cream. It was a lovely day to stroll about the town.

Taking a break.

I had my eye on a pair of red ones, but they didn't fit.

I can't remember if I've been to Taos. Of New Mexico what I remember are the bluest skies, red clay (like Sedona) and the colors of the skirts all viberant and velvet.

Cele: The first two we definitely saw. Not the skirts though. Too bad.

Oh I love the loom and the boots shot! Very cool...wouldn't mind having some of those boots myself!
Thanks for your visits:):)

Lisa: I had a small loom when I was a kid and have been fascinated with them ever since. I'm still on the hunt for some boots to replace my old ones. I didn't manage to find any on the trip when I was in the Southwest unfortunately.

Shopping for boots was fun! I was kind of bummed you didn't find a pair of red ones that fit. Perhaps on another trip?

P.S. I like the picture of me, by the way. Esp. the memory it evokes. Just wanted to say.

Janet: The search continues... I'm glad you like that shot.

Maya, re. boots, check out the little shop on Greenwood just south of 85th about a 1/2 block on the west side of the street. You may just find a pair you like!

Kim: Thanks for the tip! I was just talking to my friend last night about where we could look for boots in this city. She wants a pair of Ropers, so I said we need to go boot shopping!
