Just Keeping an Eye Out

The Grand Canyon is a superb model and always astonishes. Unfortunately, the weather didn't co-operate and it was hazy the day we were there. I had to do some post processing to make these shots somewhat acceptable.

The Colorado River. I'd love to go on another river trip down there someday!

Ducky and I are going to the Grand Canyon in September. I am so excited, I was last there in 1969 or maybe it was 1972, the years past are getting hazy. Ducky has never been there. Your photography totally captures the essense and epic quality of nature's greatest works.

I loved the Grand Canyon as a "model". I was able to capture sunset and sunrise pics, as well as a rainbow. Wonderful place.

Cele: Thanks! Enjoy your time there. September should be a good month for a visit.

Linda: It sounds like you had good photo ops there!

Linda: Next time I'd like to camp so we can catch the sunset and sunrise!

Despite the haze, your photos turned out beautifully. Esp. that first one with the raven. It's that photo that is EXACTLY why I need to upgrade to a DSLR. I can't get my camera to focus on things in the foreground without furbing and even then I rarely get the focus on what I want it to be on. It's damned frustrating, bec. I took a photo similar to your raven photo and the bird was out of focus, but the canyon was crisp. Not what I wanted!

Well those are fantabulous Maya! I especially like the bird, and those pots in the window. Girl you did that canyon justice!

Am I Probla going to see and J in Paree???

Oh and yes, J needs to step to the plate and get herself and SLR. She's too good not to, oui??? :)

Janet: Yes, you should get an SLR. You are at the level that you could do more with one (once you learn the crazy menus)!

V: Thanks! I DO SO hope we see you in Paree! :-)

You did the canyon proud! Nothing wrong with some postprocessing when it really brings out the beauty sans the weather.
The vertical one with the river meandering is my fave. I do like the indian paintbrush and the pottery at the canyon - makes an interesting and unusual perspective.

Tash: Thanks! Have you ever gone on a river trip down the Colorado? If not, you should go sometime!
