PRIDE

Last weekend Seattle celebrated PRIDE. This is a picture of one of the Macy's window displays.

This shot and the next few shots were taken at the Dyke Rally.

Sarah wasn't too sure about my camera pointing at her, but seemed happy enough to be at the Rally.

Wow, that top shot turned out so pretty. I like the swirling colors with the shiny glass. The clothesline project is brilliant. Violence cuts across all human relationships. Sadly the possibilities seem endless. I think the "Cross Word" shirt you featured is way clever.

I couldn't get out to any of the celebrations, although we had to drive through detours around Seattle Center to get me to urgent care where I spent all Sunday with acute GI pain. They fixed whatever it was, but I didn't really start feeling well until Monday night. Glad there was a beautiful weekend. That pup has soulful eyes!

Kim: I'm sorry to hear you were in such pain! GI problems have been my nemesis as well. argh! I hope you are feeling better now.

Great photos from PRIDE. I'm really bummed I missed out this year. Love Macy's windows! And great shot of the dog, too.

I really like the banner for "The Clothesline Project."

Violence against GLBT people, unfortunately, has always been an "out of sight, out of mind" proposition for the public. That is, until a high-profile tragedy captures the news cycle for 24 hours.

Then it sinks below the radar again.

Janet: Thanks!

movielady: This is a great project. The T-shirts are very eye catching and draw people in. Hopefully it will raise awareness!
