Vivid color

I picked up a lovely bouquet of flowers at the farmer's market today for my friend that is starting a new job on Monday.

We had our book club meeting tonight and I loved the way this lamp was reflecting in the window which showed the deep blue of the night sky outside. We read Catch 22 which I have to say I did not like and did not finish (the only book so far that I haven't finished). I was not alone, however. Out of seven people, only two finished and liked the book.

I was just flipping back & forth and boom! there was you new post!
The lamp photo is suberb! Flowers are great with so many shades of red/brown/orange... Riding the rail is hilarious. You've got so many great ideas and that's after so many posts. (PS I saw U chose the SK8TER BOY - I would of picked that 1 2).
I like hearing about your book club. I remember your earlier wine glass post re BkClb. Catch-22 - read it in High School while in Palm Springs with my mom for spring break with overcast skys - I liked it & finished it then, maybe that's the target audiance. My then boy-friend used repeat the Catch-22 "round" over & over. (Sorry for the lengthy comment.)
Again, great posts!

tash: Thanks! It's getting hard to be "fresh" with the posts. Some days are definitely harder than others. It all depends on what you happen to see in a day!

friar: Thanks!

Catch-22 is currently in my TBR pile. As soon as I finish Hedrick Smith's The Russians, I'll pick it up. I've heard mixed reviews on it, but I'm going to give it a shot anyway as it's one of those culturally iconic books I never read in my youth and I feel like I can't say I've lived and read well if I don't read it. Silly, huh?

Love the picture of the flowers. Lucky, lucky friend!

So whats the next book?

d.c.: I felt the same way. Good luck with it! Several people in the group thought it was better when they read it as a teen. I'm not really sure why!

My friend actually started as a contractor in my group at work (she sits behind me, so I get some benefit from the flowers too). It's nice to have a bit more estrogen around!

dusty: The next book is a silly one that we are lovingly referring to as "crack literature": Twilight. I'm already almost done with the second book in the series!
