The Peaks

We drove up the San Francisco Peaks today. It was a bit hazy, but still a great view. The mountain you see in the distance is Kendrick Mountain.

We did some mushroom hunting. These are Shaggy Manes. My parents love them. Unfortunately, I can't eat them or I get sick.

One or two of the Aspen were changing color, but it will be much better in a week or two.

I love my new lens!

Did I mention I love my new lens?

Wow! That new lens is AMAZING. Congrats to you on the acquisition thereof!

One of the things I miss about the West are cottonwood trees in the fall. They're so beautiful against the coniferous varieties.

I love that tight shot of the field with all the tips of those feathery plants waving -- I don't know what to call them. The backlight on them is really nice.

d.c.: I believe there are quite a few Cottonwood trees in the Sedona area. We went down one day and heard the Cicadas during the day and the crickets at night. Quite a symphony of sound all the time down there!

christy: Thanks! I took a million shots of that grass because it was backlit so well. I'm sure you understand! ;-)
