I had to get an emissions test today on my car and drove a route I'm not used to. I spotted all these Light Rail cars
just waiting to be used. It's about time this city got a mass transit system other than the overworked buses!
I also saw this groovy fountain.

That is a very groovy fountain!
Why transportation infrastructure is so lacking in urban settings in this country is such a mystery to me, but I'm hoping Seattle's light rail will be a hit.
Beautiful shots both of them. I remeber seeing the green spikes - was it on your blog or in reality? The fountain is so original. Again - great photos.
Now this is a cool fountain!
I hope your train actually goes somewhere and is helpful.
We have one of these choo-choos in Minneapolis. Sure wish the tracks ran up my way. Maybe in another 100 years.
d.c. I don't understand it either! I can't wait until they expand the Light Rail. The route that is starting next year won't be of much use to me most of the time.
tash: Thanks! I don't think I've posted those green spikes before so it must have been in reality.
dusty: We actually have a commuter train that runs north/south as well, but it only has two a day going certain directions because the "regular" trains need the tracks the rest of the time. This is a light rail and has it's own special tracks with only smaller cars going through more often. Vancouver B.C. has one similar to what we are getting. It will also go through the bus tunnel along with the buses. I wonder how that is going to work out...
