Those are amazing, Maya! Are they backlit or is the paint luminous? I don't think I have ever seen those makers downtown. I guess I need to be looking at the ground more as I walk. It's probably safer that way too. :)
they are really beautiful! nice photos with gorgeous colors. There are some nice restaurants along there (if it's east shore of Lake Union)...breakfast place with yellow walls & art/ reasonably priced steak house with a great deck (upper & lower)- I wanna go back again.
dc: I like that leaf too. They just seem to creep into all my photos these days. There are leaves everywhere!
movielady: Yes, it's a good idea to look down every now and then! ;-)
I'm not sure how they were lit up. I was wondering that myself. It looked like they were glowing from underneath, but I don't think they were glass blocks with space/light down below like you see down in Pioneer Square. It's a mystery!
tash: Thanks! They were quite a lucky find. Come on back for a visit and we'll go eat there (either place)!

What a clever idea to mark the sidewwalk corners with the streeet names. a little art mixed with functioality; I like that.
Interesting way to mark the streets. Love the lone yellow leaf in the second one.
