On the Texas Road

My last post about Texas features the view from the road on our last day before entering New Mexico. I love these old fashioned windmills.

New fashioned windmill.

We saw these pumpjacks everywhere.

Luckily, the wind farms seem to be competing pretty heavily with the oil wells!

I don't get what everyone complains about wind farms? Are they really that loud? I couldn't hear the ones I've driven through.

I'm glad we saw wind farms in Texas. Gives me hope that America can do the right thing when it comes to energy and freeing ourselves from oil dependence in the Middle East.

Cele: No, they aren't loud at all. I think people object to them marring the scenery. I think they look kind of cool though...

Janet: I have to say that I was surprised to see so many in Texas (the oil state). It gives me hope!

The windmill farms look like they could be around Palm Springs. Love the 1st one of the old-fashioned windmill - very nicely balanced photo.

Tash: I agree! I've seen them near Palm Springs too. I like the look of the old fashioned ones better, but they are both intriguing!
