The French Quarter in New Orleans did not disappoint when it came to beautiful buildings with iron work detail. However, I could have lived without the filth and certain smells of Bourbon street!

A visit to the French Quarter would not be complete without a visit to Cafe du Monde for beignets!

Sorry but NOLA I can take or leave. The beignets and cafe au lait??? I LOVE. Sadly NO is a not what it was or maybe it's what it's always been. I don't know for sure.

Virginia: I agree! It's a bit like Vegas. Now that I've been there, I don't need to go back... But then again, maybe I wasn't there long enough to give it a decent chance.
Nice photos of the ironwork and those beignets look so real, I could almost reach in and take a bite.
Janet: I could sure go for one right now (especially with my hotel coffee - bleh)!
