Basel: Rathaus
This is one of the most beautiful Town Halls I've ever seen. The color and tile roof are amazing!

Two Things Challenge: Private/Public
This photographer has his own private thoughts on what he might shoot after setting up his tripod, but he is in a public square so I catch a shot of him from way above in the church tower.

Basel, Switzerland Redux
We have good friends that live in Basel, so go up there quite often to visit. This time, despite the extremely cold weather, we went photowalking. This is the Tinguely fountain encased in ice.

Cue ball in the sky
The moon is blown out, but I still think these shots are interesting.
This is the same shot as the one above without the added enhancements. Which do you prefer?

Whimsy
We drove to Basel in a huge snowstorm a couple of weeks ago. Watching this Volvo made it worth it! I wish I could have gotten a shot of the young couple inside it. They were dressed to the nines to go with the cute car.
This is not a dog toilet!

When you are desperate for a hamburger...
Finding a good steak or hamburger in Switzerland or France is a challenge. We finally resorted to trying the Buffalo Grill. It wasn't great, but satisfied that craving for awhile. Now, if we could just find good Mexican food!
The Arizona Burger
At least you get a "clean up tissue" with your meal.

100 Strangers Series: 15 and 16
We got ourselves into a bit of a sticky wicket. Luckily, these nice men came along and helped us out. First a couple of young Frenchmen named Nicolas and Olivier (seen later paragliding), then the Postman (you see his truck in the background) who retrieved the man with the tractor. A big thanks to all of them! From now on, we'll just refer to this as "the incident."
The following are shots of Nicolas and Olivier practicing paragliding. We ran into them later on down the road after "the incident."

Martigny - The End
One of the nearby mountains complete with avalanche fences. It also looked windy up there. My friends who went skiing that day confirmed that it was indeed very windy!
What Swiss town is complete without a nearby castle?
