Alpages at Annecy

Last Fall we drove to Annecy in France to see the Alpage. This is a time when people bring down their livestock from the mountains for the winter. They have a festival in town to celebrate and show off the various talents and animals of the region. There is a parade of people in costume and the animals through the city streets. It was a fun time!

Okay don't laugh, I've always wondered what those horns were made from. Wow, Linda said it, they are works of arts. I totally love the wooden shoes with the hearts.

The alphorns are fantastic (also to listen to I guess)!

The two ladies on the top reminds me of a visit to a Titicaca island, where only men were allowed to knit, almost dressed like these ladies!

I think we all need to head off to the Titicaca Island with Peter and see those knitters! :)

I expect to see J in some of those wooden shoes any day now!

Linda: I agree! Unfortunately, we never seemed to be in the right place at the right time to hear them.

Cele: I'm not sure what they are made out of. Good question! Anyone?

Peter: I would have liked to see that!

V: I agree about going to Titicaca! I can't see J wearing those for very long... ;-)
