Today at lunch we ate at Red Robin on the waterfront. It was such a beautiful day that we wanted to sit outside. We had a great view of the sound including the Elliot Bay Water Taxi coming in.

I finally took that water taxi last year. Lots of fun and great for out of town visitors.
This is your view from Red Robin?! What a great view! I could sit there all day watching the boats in the sound. The Red Robin I know of here overlooks a parking lot.
That blue sky and blue water looks so cool compared to the 90+ degree heat and humidity we're having. When I lived in the Bay Area, I loved taking the ferry between San Francisco and Vallejo! Just being on the water is relaxing.
Great photos! And proof positive you don't have to eat at fancy-pants restaurants to enjoy a good view!
That's how I commute for 6 months out of the year. If you have a bus pass, you can ride the water taxi for free by showing it onboard. I highly recommend it.
It also runs late on Mariners home game nights, which is nice if you just want to hop over to Saltys or the crab shack for dinner or happy hour.
rachel and christy: I hope to take it one day soon! It looks like it would be fun. Maybe if I move to West Seattle, it could become my regular summer commute!
dusty: Yes, I'm not a big fan of the chain restaurants, but when one has a view this good and is close to work, you just have to give in!
d.c.: Thanks! Taking the ferries is always fun. There are many here to choose from... Now that it's gotten hot, I'll have to get out on one again.
