A bird in the hand...

is worth two in the bush? We saw two birds that seemed mighty used to being around people. This one was sitting right next to us on the porch where we spent one night. I'm not sure what kind he is. Anyone know?

This Stellar Jay (I'm pretty sure that is what he is) joined us the minute we opened our door. He didn't seem to mind the paparazzi at all!

He, he, the Jay looks as curious about you as you were about him. He (she?) is gorgeous.

Maya, never seen a Stellar Jay with this brown head. Might check with Abe Lincoln of Brookville Daily Photo ... he is a bird expert if there ever was one -:)

Bird Paparazzi, I like that. I think the first one is a Barn Swallow, but I am not 100% sure.

Chuck: Thanks for the info! Maybe he's just a regular Jay.

Dusty: Thanks! No one else has weighed in, so we'll go with that! :-)
