The Peaks
We drove up the San Francisco Peaks today. It was a bit hazy, but still a great view. The mountain you see in the distance is Kendrick Mountain.
We did some mushroom hunting. These are Shaggy Manes. My parents love them. Unfortunately, I can't eat them or I get sick.
One or two of the Aspen were changing color, but it will be much better in a week or two.
I love my new lens!
Did I mention I love my new lens?

The Big Seven Oh
We had a party for my mother's 70th birthday today. Everything was perfect: good weather, good food, good company!
That blue sky to die for!
The shirt of the only teen at the party. It's nice to know she has her priorities in order!
A peek into my parent's sense of humor.
On the Way
Art at the Seattle/Tacoma (SeaTac) airport.
It was a stormy shuttle ride up to Flagstaff from the Phoenix airport. I saw some unbelievable skies.

Vacation
Hello all, just a note to tell you that I'm on vacation in beautiful Flagstaff, AZ. I've come down for my mother's 70th birthday. Although I'm still taking photos every day, I have been unable to post any yet. Hopefully that will change soon. If not, you will have to wait until I return home. For the avid photographers out there, you'll understand my excitement when I tell you I received a new 18mm-200mm lens while here as an early Christmas present! Maybe you'll see an improvement in some of my photos now.

Two Things Challenge: Green/Blue
Here's a bit o' Irish green for the Two Things Challenge this week (with a bit of blue thrown in for good measure).

Two Things Challenge: Green/Blue
Did I ever mention that Green/Blue was my favorite crayon when I was a kid? Didn't think so.
I think this captures the "blue" part of the challenge quite well. Apparently it's a beer company with a playful website.

Light Rail!
I had to get an emissions test today on my car and drove a route I'm not used to. I spotted all these Light Rail cars just waiting to be used. It's about time this city got a mass transit system other than the overworked buses!
I also saw this groovy fountain.

Vivid color
I picked up a lovely bouquet of flowers at the farmer's market today for my friend that is starting a new job on Monday.
We had our book club meeting tonight and I loved the way this lamp was reflecting in the window which showed the deep blue of the night sky outside. We read Catch 22 which I have to say I did not like and did not finish (the only book so far that I haven't finished). I was not alone, however. Out of seven people, only two finished and liked the book.

Park(ing) Day 2008
Today was Park(ing) Day 2008. People in several cities take over metered parking spots and transform them into mini green spaces.

Urban Dogs
What is he doing you ask? He is picking up litter in my favorite block which is full of beautiful plants and flowers. I thanked him profusely!

Possible Two Things Challenge: Product/Label
I'm not sure yet if I want to use this one. I'm also still trying to decide on the Photo Friday Challenge (relationship). Do y'all like the skateboarder or the photographer better?

It's a recycling kind of town.
This is one of the reasons I love Seattle. The recycling bins are always much fuller than the regular garbage bins!
Any idea what this is? I don't know, but I think it looks interesting.

Red Wagons and Pink Ribbons
These kids had a great way of carrying their goodies from the Farmer's Market!
Not a terrible job to have on a nice day at the Farmer's Market. You get to meet a lot of interesing people and soak up some sun!
I spotted these ladies while driving to Ballard. My guess is they were part of the 3-Day Breast Cancer Walk since there was a lot of pink to be seen.

A Day on the Water
A boat at the marina.
We only stopped by Lake Union and then headed over to Lake Washington for the rest of the day.
There was a Husky game going on so this area was FULL of boats hanging out for the game. I guess it's like a tailgate party on boats.

Cute Tanks for Sale?
Bud Bus Stop. I'm wondering if people can catch a ride on this Budweiser truck since it was parked at the bus stop?

Red on Red
The light was great during our Happy Hour cocktails at Collin's Pub after work. These curtains looked sparkly!
The art was interesting and lit up nicely as well.

Boom Noodle
I ate at Boom Noodle after work today. Most of the food was great. In this shot you see edamame puree, a tofu dish, and salmon in the background. I also had a very good shiso mojito. All this food and drink was on the happy hour menu.
The evening light was magical on the walk home!
